When It Rains, ….. *** (UPDATE)

*** The police found the car about 3 miles from our home around 3:00pm today.
It was a bit dirty, a full tank of gas was gone, smelled of pot inside, a man’s shirt left inside, the license tag had been replaced with a dealer’s tag, and a small kids school backpack left in the back. No damage, and the police say that they know who it is. Now, … just finding him!

**********

As that saying goes, “When It Rains, … It Pours”.

Yesterday morning, I go outside to crank mine and my wife’s car up to let them warm up a bit in this cold weather we have been having.
I come back inside, grab some things to get ready to leave, and in less than 5 minutes time, my wife’s new SUV is gone.
DAMN!
Yep, … somebody stole it right from our driveway, right from under our nose!

If anyone out there who has been having some good luck, and has some left over, … could you please send me some?
You can FedEx it if you like, and I will gladly pay for it too!

Seriously though, … seems like I couldn’t buy any breaks if I had all the money in the world.
From my truck getting totaled by a drunk driver 2 years ago, the hot water heater causing a huge mess, a hiking/shooting trip in Georgia that resulted in me getting a couple of teeth knocked out, a lawn mower that blew up, the loss of huge trees on our property from two different storms, a sink hole on our property, ….. I truly can’t catch a break.

Hopefully I will post something again one day. Maybe something that will inspire both you, ….. and me! God knows I need some quick inspiration.
Right now, it is pretty tough to write anything at all, … other than a bunch of curse words! :)

Hope that everyone had a great New Year, and that 2010 will be the best ever.
I’ll come around one of these days, ….. and soon!

Michael

  3. Michael, I’m really sorry to hear about such a chain of miserable events. It seems like there are thick black stormy clouds gathered upon your house :( I wish you the sun to break through these heavy clouds soon allowing you to not take a break but take a vacations! Veeery long vacations from such events. I’m looking forward to hearing happier news soon.

  4. I am so sorry for your string of bad luck. It absolutely sucks when crappy things happen to people like you. People that have been so generous sharing their craft and time with others. Chin up, stay positive, and let the negative crap go. There is no use for it, especially in the life of someone as creative as you.

  5. Oh my, you are having a time of it, but remember (glass half full) that your photos are beautiful and give many a sense of peace and contentment with the world, so maybe concentrating on the beauty you can find around you will change your luck for the better and no fedex charges.

  7. Hey, … thanks gang, especially for any and all encouragement!
    I’m feeling much better now.
Other recent events had me gritting my teeth, but this thing with the car being stolen really knocked me for a loop.
But now after finding our car, … A good cold beer and my recliner is simply awesome!!!

  9. The stolen warming car from the driveway is unfortunately quite common – so you aren’t alone. I just wonder how they spot them and do it so quick. Sorry to hear about the misfortunes.

  10. Glad they found the car. All I can say is this too shall pass. Sometimes it just takes a while. I went through a period like that starting back in April and running thru November. I still find myself constantly looking over my shoulder.

  11. Wow, I would never think of getting a car stolen from a driveway like that. Some cars have remote starters. You can start them from inside the house, but when you open the door they turn off. Pretty slick system.

I’m sending you better luck, you need it!

  12. I’m sorry to hear about all your bad experiences, I’m sending you all my spare good luck! I’m glad they found the car without too much damage though maybe this is a good turn around. As a dentist I truly cringe to hear about the teeth but you still have love and life and I hope things are getting better.
