Explorations in the artistic world of macro photography.

Daylily – “Hemerocallis” – Abstract Macro

The top portion of the petal, just under the rich green color of the daylily’s throat area, often reminds me somewhat of a waterfall as the petal comes down towards the lens and gradually becomes a total blur.
The trick here is to selectively focus right at the top edge of the petal, and to let the rest of the image with its shallow depth to simply fall where it may.
