Taking A Deep Break From Photography!
Yep, …… a deep break & breath is needed!
Yesterday while checking some of my files dating back to the year 2000, I discovered that I have created more images in the past 5 weeks than I have in the past 2 years.
Yes, I am busy. Creating new types of imagery, creating imagery for certain series I have been working on for quite a while, and writing a awful lot.
So, … I am taking a break.
Besides, ………. the grass needs cutting! : )

“Adagio” Series – #22

During the past 5 weeks, while having some time out on the road, I have whipped out the laptop and worked on a website, a website that I will use for about a year or so while working on another site that is a bit more my style.
I have fixed something up over at Smugmug for the time being, and discontinued my archives at Photoshelter.
New Website: “Macro Art In Nature”
It will do for now!
Photoshelter was nice, and particularly for stock imagery.
But, for what I do, I determined that their little quirks that I did not like were pretty much the same as Smugmug, and I still could deliver files to clients like I have done in the past.
Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the pits for Smugmug just like it was and still is with Photoshelter. This is where putting together a different site is a must for the future, … in my opinion.
So, … for certain reasons, … I moved!
There are some things that I will be working on at this new site that you can visit now, such as the “Contact, Info, Client” pages. I do not like their “journal” style, and will be putting together some HTML pages soon to overcome that boring/everyday look.
Plus the “Prints” page soon will be in place.
All new work will be uploaded at this site as it is created, … so stay tuned.
Oh well, … let me run and answer some overdue email and get back out in the yard.
I have a couple of days to work around the house before heading to Summerville, Magnolia Gardens and Plantation, and the Audubon Swamp Gardens at the end of the week for a 3 day shoot, … so I’m outta here gang!
Hope that everyone is getting along well!

“Macro Art In Nature” – Website
A bit of “Macro Art In Nature” news!
A new website? A second blog, … maybe even a third blog?
Certain prints up for sale that only the consultants/designers have been selling?
Well, ….. maybe all of this and more! : )

Brazil Agate Rock
“The Split”

Yes, … I know, … I have not posted very much this past year or so, and have also been pretty terrible at visiting other blogs.
I have been shooting some things a year in advance, and that has kept me pretty busy.
I have quickly learned, that with the way things are in today’s marketplace, one needs to look ahead. “Way ahead!”
I am finally putting a website together. Should be finished soon.
I never really had much of a need for a website, relying on my archives to show existing or potential clients my work.
But now, I have changed up a few things, eliminating my archives over at Photoshelter, and whipping up a new site.
In stock photography, a site like Photoshelter would work out very well.
In the pure and high end art market, in my opinion, … a more personal website would be a bit more beneficial to me at this time.
Sure, … I could have had a new site together and used Photoshelter along with it, … but something told me to head in a different direction.
So, I did!
I will eventually put this blog journal together with the new website.
Hopefully, putting the two together will be a painless venture, since I am not a HTML/CSS guru!
The second blog will probably feature imagery that has been sold through consultants and designers, and being offered for the first time to everyone else.
The prices will be ridiculous! : )
Some of those images you have seen before in this journal here at “Macro Art In Nature”, … but I have never really told you which ones and what types were selling to those hotels, casinos, corporate offices, etc. Plus, … maybe a bit of chatting about what those consultants/designers, and what their clients are consistently looking for, … or so it seems to me!
And, … I must admit, … one of the reasons for some of these prints and their prices, ….. is that my two sons are literally scaring the hell out of me with their choices of college. So, … I gotta get creative in a different kind of way.
Anyone rich out there want to adopt me?
Inside track on the right lotto numbers?
Discounts on Excedrin and Jack Daniels?
I need a hug!
A third blog journal is also in the works, a journal for writers and photographers.
More on this later, ….. if it all works out.
It’s got to be perfect!
Guess that is it for now.
I have a ton of editing to do, … more fiddling around with the new site, … and to finish up the back porch tomorrow morning before the wife has my head all to herself!
And, … as always, … many thanks for stopping by gang!
